Kellogg's Apologizes for Racist Corn Pops Box

A complaint to Kellogg's this week that its Corn Pops box art is teaching children to be racist received a prompt apology and a vow to immediately implement changes. Writer Saladin Ahmed tweeted images of the artwork on a Corn Pops box after he noticed something odd about the illustration. And there's only one brown Corn Pop on the box and it's the janitor.

In the middle of this illustration, Ahmed identified a lone non-yellow corn pop.

The box shows cartoon Corn Pops hanging out in a retail mall.

He said earlier, Pakistan had influenced over Taliban but now they (Taliban) were being sponsored by some others. The US should ask them to play a role in resolving Afghan issue instead of demanding Pakistan of "doing more".

Ahmed went on to say he realizes it's a tiny detail, but when he noticed his kid staring at the design over breakfast, he realized millions of other kids were doing the same...and what message would they be taking away?

Ahmed responded that he "genuinely appreciated the rapid response". Whatever your stance on the subject, you can check out the Kellogg's Corn Pops box in question below, courtesy of Saladin Ahmed's Twitter account.

After Ahmed's tweet, The Kellogg Company responded, tweeting at Ahmed, "Kellogg is committed to diversity & inclusion".

"We take feedback very seriously, and it was never our intention to offend anyone", the company said in a statement.

Just after few hours of Ahmed's tweet on Tuesday, the Battle Creek, a Michigan-based manufacturer of cereal and Pop Tarts stated that the artwork had been altered and will reach shops as soon as possible. I'm not saying we need corn pop diversity. Do Corn Pops have a race?
