Intel and AMD announced today that they have partnered to create a new ultrathin laptop chip unit that combines Intel's 8th Gen Intel Core central processing unit with a custom-designed AMD Radeon integrated graphics processing unit or GPU chip.
"Our collaboration with Intel expands the installed base for AMD Radeon GPUs and brings to market a differentiated solution for high-performance graphics", says AMD's Scott Herkelman, "together, we are offering gamers and content creators the opportunity to have a thinner-and-lighter PC capable of delivering discrete performance-tier graphics experiences in AAA games and content creation applications".
Houston Astros celebrate World Series win by visiting SNL
All three players were instrumental in helping the Astros turn back-to-back 100-loss seasons into a World Series year. There are a few missteps in the video, sending the hat falling back toward the bottom of the garage.
Intel also mentions that this will be the first consumer product that uses the EMIB small intelligent bridge design. "Balancing power between our high-performing processor and the graphics subsystem is critical to achieve great performance across both processors as systems get thinner". Other names are for informational purposes only and may be trademarks of their respective owners. The collaboration is a showcase for some new Intel tech that allows for smaller, more power-efficient chips. The two companies have been competing tooth and nail for decades, and to see a partnership like this appear now - especially in a year when AMD has restored itself as a competitive brand with their Ryzen desktop CPUs - is nothing short of staggering. The chip would be powerful enough to run high-end video games on a thin and lightweight notebook PC, they said.
It's a huge announcement, in part due to the long, bitter history between AMD and Intel. As for Intel and AMD, the chip gives the two firms a potential leg up over chunkier laptops that pack NVIDIA discrete graphics.
Intel worked closely with AMD's Radeon Technologies Group to design the semi-custom graphics chip being used.
FOX Is in Talks to Sell Most Assets to Disney
Fox said in August that it expects to see high single-digit domestic affiliate fee growth every quarter in fiscal 2018. Disney , which under US rules could not own two broadcast networks, would not purchase all of Fox, CNBC reported.
There are no specific performance numbers yet but these new Core H-series processors should start showing up in laptops at some point in Q1 2018.
Intel will work with AMD on drivers for the Radeon GPU, with AMD writing the initial code and Intel packaging them for users to download.
"[It] enables system designers to adjust the ratio of power sharing between the processor and graphics based on workloads and usages, like performance gaming", writes Chris Walker, Intel VP of the Client Computing Group and general manager of the Mobile Client Platform. It says the Intel chips are designed for intensive gamers where the Ryzen chips can handle games but aren't specifically designed for that objective.
Zeke will play Sunday; stay granted by appeals court
He hasn't considered accepting the punishment, he said, because the consequences affect more than his playing career. If Elliott serves the six-game suspension, he would be ineligible until the Cowboys play at Oakland on December 17.
