MLS expected to announce Nashville expansion team

The city of Nashville, Tenn.is expected to land one of Major League Soccer's new expansion teams. Multiple sources confirmed MLS will announce it's expanding to Nashville, with the team probably beginning play in 2020. The group has identified Ford Field as an "ideal home" for a soccer team.

FC Cincinnati is still not out of the race to become the next Major League Soccer team.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber, Nashville Mayor Megan Barry and Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam are among those slated to attend what the league called a "special announcement" at the Country Music Hall of Fame at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
