Photo James Damore's lawsuit against Google, which fired him a year ago after he criticized its diversity efforts, said, "Google's open hostility for conservative thought is paired with invidious discrimination on the basis of race and gender".

James Damore, the former Google engineer who was sacked after distributing a memo questioning the company's diversity policies, filed a class action lawsuit on Monday claiming racial discrimination by the technology giant. He is joined in the lawsuit by another former Google engineer, David Gudeman. Damore became a media mainstay after penning a highly controversial 3,300-word memo arguing against Google's perceived culture of political correctness. Damore and Gudeman allege Google is a hostile workplace for employees with conservative views, and that the company "employs illegal hiring quotas to fill its desired percentages of women and favored minority candidates".
