James Damore, the former Google engineer who was sacked after distributing a memo questioning the company's diversity policies, filed a class action lawsuit on Monday claiming racial discrimination by the technology giant. He is joined in the lawsuit by another former Google engineer, David Gudeman. They claim they were discriminated against because they are both male and Caucasian, and Google's practices favor women and minorities. This unacceptable behavior occurred at the hands of high-level managers at Google who were responsible for hundreds, if not thousands, of hiring and firing decisions...

Damore became a media mainstay after penning a highly controversial 3,300-word memo arguing against Google's perceived culture of political correctness. Damore and Gudeman allege Google is a hostile workplace for employees with conservative views, and that the company "employs illegal hiring quotas to fill its desired percentages of women and favored minority candidates".
