Investigators were trying to figure out why a Central Michigan University student charged with fatally shooting his parents acted so strangely the day before the killings that he was taken to a hospital.
Davis Jr., 19, shot and killed his mother and father in the dorm on the northwestern edge of campus Friday morning, authorities said, leading to an hours-long manhunt that ended with his arrest early Saturday.
Klaus said Davis was taken to a hospital by campus police because of a drug-related health problem, possibly an overdose.
"Jesus still loves James Eric Davis, Jr. and He is still seeking him and we as a community, need to pray for him", said Father T.J. Fleming to the humble gathering.
Davis Jr. was ultimately transported to a local hospital for observation, where he stayed overnight until his parents picked him up Friday morning.
Yeagley said that police had first come into contact with Davis Jr. on Thursday morning when he ran into a community police officer's office in his dorm "very frightened" but "not making a lot of sense".

It's a good feeling because if some player can have some speculation around them all this shows that they progress in the team. Charlie Daniels cut the ball back for Junior Stanislas who blazed his side-footed effort wide.
Yeagley declined to say whether drugs were found in Davis Jr.'s system. It was unknown whether the firearm was the father's service weapon and if the father had brought the gun to campus when picking up his son Friday.
University police Chief Bill Yeagley said the 19-year-old can be seen on video in the dorm's parking lot with the gun before he entered the residence hall where his parents were shot around 8:30 a.m. "The hurting will go on for a while", Ross said.
"He said someone was out to hurt him, someone was out to harm him", Yeagley said, adding that when officers pressed Davis for more details, he was "extremely vague".
Yeagley said Davis Jr. had not been previously identified by campus officials as someone that others on campus were concerned about.
"He was clearly cold and life was not making sense to him at that moment", said Yeagley.
It's unclear whether a university staff member or officer was monitoring the entrance of the residence hall when the suspect came in with the weapon.
Conrad Sangma stakes claim for Govt formation in Meghalaya
UDP president and RDA chairman Donkupar Roy said that NPP was extended support on the condition that Sangma is made the CM. All these party leaders met Governor Ganga Prasad in Raj Bhawan this evening to stake claim to form the next government.
Davis Jr. was then seen leaving and heading north along the railroad tracks. "The deceased are not students and police believe the situation started from a domestic situation", the university said in a statement. He was acting and speaking in a way that was "not reasonable or logical", and the officers suspected drugs might be involved, Yeagley said.
An Army veteran, he was also a police officer employed at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, said center director Marc Magill. "That's traumatic", Michigan Governor Rick Snyder said, per Newsweek.
Davis, who was a resident of nearby IL state but attending college in MI, was known to law enforcement.
"Campus is on lockdown as the suspect is still at large", the school said several hours after the incident occurred.
"I think everyone - people who weren't here may be who didn't experience it might be a little shaken but I never really questioned the safety of this campus", said Kelsey Bogrow.
