Amit Shah likens opposition parties to snakes, dogs afraid of 'Modi flood'

District Vice President of Srinagar Ashok Bhat said BJP was one of the few parties in India to have a popular-based governing structure, where workers and leaders at the local level have a great say in much of the decision-making.

Queried as to why he was saying the NDA would capture power in the 2019 polls - unlike during the 2014 polls when the BJP had spoken about its ambition of winning 272 on its own, Shah said, "Even the 272-member Government is also that of the NDA".

Amit Shah issued the clarification over controversial remark saying, "What I intended was that the parties with opposing political ideologies which could never come together have united..."

"We believe that we are once again going to form the government with overwhelming majority in 2019", he said.
