It is also working on new features that would improve recent versions of the smartphone - including a curved screen and touchless controls.

To stay ahead, Apple needs compelling new features and designs.

Apple poaches Google's top AI executive to help Siri
Giannandrea will focus on AI technology that supports Siri , while Federighi will likely still oversee the user-facing components. He originally joined the company after Google bought startup Metaweb , where he acted as Chief Technolgy Officer, in 2010.

Apple likes to explore new possibilities with its iPhones, and if the latest reports are true, the Cupertino giant might be looking at some standout features for future iPhones.

Apple's 3D Touch works by detecting the different amounts of pressure applied by the user. This would involve a screen where the actual middle of the display is lower than the top and bottom edges, resembling LG's Flex smartphone to an extent. This would go along with a curved screen, a feature that has made leading manufacturers scratch their heads. The iPhone X's OLED screen curves slightly at the bottom, but the shape is mostly invisible to the human eye. It is also nothing like Samsung's Air Gestures which came out years ago that lets users accept calls and flip through web pages by waving their hand across the top of the phone. If you can recall, Samsung launched Air View for Galaxy devices that allows users to a take peek at the content in apps and do other things. The feature would be based on technology built into the display itself rather than via a motion sensor on the phone's bezel, like with Samsung's implementation, the person explained.

Patriots looking to trade up to draft Baker Mayfield?
In his lone season as a Patriot, the 5-foot-10, 189-pound receiver caught 65 passes for 1,082 yards with seven touchdowns. He can snag a new left tackle, another wide receiver, and most importantly, a quarterback for the future.

Google is also working on technology using gestures through a program called Project Soli. "Its Retina display, powerful chip, enhanced cameras and advanced sensors, including a gyroscope and accelerometer for accurate motion tracking, are created to support the next generation of AR apps". Apple as always has not made any comments on this issue, so we would have to wait to see if the report eventually turns out to be legit. The touchless gesture control is something that's been implemented in Samsung phones already but Apple's design seems to work on a different principle entirely.

Spotify valued at $26bn in unusual stock debut listing
But on an operating basis, excluding some financial transaction costs, Spotify lost $465 million, 8% worse than the previous year. Spotify's core business is online music streaming services that allow customers to play music through the internet.
