Nintendo profits increase 505 percent thanks to Switch

Overall, Nintendo and its partners sold 63.51 million Switch games in the first year. The operating profit for the latest quarter was 21.1 billion yen, which exceeded the average projection of analysts for 20.2 billion yen. With almost 18 million units sold, the Switch has exceeded pretty much every sales projection from Nintendo and various analysts, making it clear that no one was really expecting this level of success for the console.

To make that massive surge in profits, Nintendo flogged 17.79 million Switches since its launch.
