United Nations raises $2 billion in Yemen appeal

Col. Turki Al Maliki, the spokesperson of the coalition, said in a statement that the attack took place in the afternoon in the global waters west of the port of Hodeidah which is under the control of Houthis in Yemen.

"But just as unlawful coalition airstrikes don't justify the Houthi's indiscriminate attacks, the Saudis can't use Houthi rockets to justify impeding life-saving goods for Yemen's civilian population", Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director at Human Rights Watch, said yesterday.

A European Union naval force that operates in the region confirmed the ship was underway, adding that the crew were safe and unharmed.

He said the missile was meant to cause civilian casualties, violating United Nations resolutions and an attempt at disrupting Saudi Arabia's security. It gave no further details.
