The Pentagon said Saturday that the USA -led allied missile strikes in Syria successfully hit all three targets and have "significantly crippled" Syrian President Bashar Assad's ability to make more chemical weapons.

A chemical weapons storage facility, located west of Homs.

The army said almost 110 missiles hit targets in the capital Damascus and other areas, and air defence systems brought a lot of them down.

Mr. Trump ordered the airstrikes in response to Syria's chemical-weapons attack last weekend in the rebel-held Damascus suburb of Douma, which killed dozens of civilians, including children.

Canadian President Justin Trudeau said the country supports the decision "to take action to degrade the Assad regime's ability to launch chemical weapons attacks against its own people".

Jennifer , her wife Sarah and three of their children were found dead after their vehicle plunged into the Pacific Ocean March 26. Police say Jennifer Hart had a blood alcohol level of 0.10, which is over the legal limit, when killing her family.

Trump had tweeted a similar statement last Sunday, saying that Russian Federation and Iran are responsible for backing Assad's regime.

"Major combat operations in Iraq have ended", Bush said at the time, standing before a large banner reading "Mission Accomplished".

In his televised address, Trump said, "The goal of our actions tonight is to establish a strong deterrent against the production, spread and use of chemical weapons".

"America does not seek an indefinite presence in Syria", he said, thanking the United Kingdom and France for joining the U.S. in its fight against the Syrian regime.

"Such attacks will not deter our armed forces and allied forces from persisting to crush what is left of the armed terrorist groups", the military said.

Britain official: Russian Federation spied on Yulia Skripal's emails for 5 years
In it, Sedwill alleged Russia's GRU military intelligence service had its cyber experts break into Yulia's email in 2013. Ms Skripal, 33, was released from the hospital this week but her father remains there.

Following the announcement, the United States said strikes had been launched at 9pm EST (2am BST) and had destroyed important infrastructure at three sites connected to the Syrian regime's chemical weapons programme. "It is not about regime change", she said.

Trump said the operation would be conducted in cooperation with the militaries of France and Britain. Russian Ambassador to US Anatoly Antonov in a statement said, "All responsibility for them rests with Washington, London and Paris".

Facilities still remain operational with the capability to contribute to continued development of chemical weapons, but the USA military insist a "severe blow" has been dealt.

Syria said the US, French, and British strikes were an attempt to "hinder the mission's work". The U.S. -Russia communication line, called a deconfliction channel, has been active since the strikes, officials said.

Russian Federation has warned the West against attacking Assad, who is also supported by Iran, and says there is no evidence of a chemical attack in Douma, a town near Damascus which had been held by rebels until this month.
