On Saturday, the people of Karnataka voted to elect the members of the legislative Assembly in the ongoing election process.

The ABP-C Voter, NewsX-CNX, Republic-Jan ki Baat and News Nation exit polls predicted the BJP would be the largest party in the assembly.

Then came the Times Now-VMR exit poll predictions that too showed the Congress in an advantageous position with more than 100 seats. The Poll of Exit Polls on NDTV forecast 97, 90 and 31 seats for the BJP, the Congress and the JD (S) respectively. The post-poll surveys claimed that the Janata Dal (Secular) or JD (S) will be the "kingmaker" with almost 40 seats.
