The ousted White House staff secretary worked with the same temporary clearance Kushner had at the time, and Kushner reportedly had a dispute with John Kelly when the chief of staff tried to address the scandal by yanking security clearance from anyone who didn't have full clearance.
President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, got his white house security clearance back on Wednesday.
That's according to a person with knowledge of the decision but wasn't authorized to speak publicly about the matter.
That means Kushner once again has access to the nation's most sensitive information. Kushner was with President Donald Trump while Trump deliberated Comey's fate, during a critical weekend at his golf club Bedminster in May 2017, and he urged his father-in-law to fire Comey. The interview did not deal with Kushner's finances or his companies, Lowell said.
Pompeo Seeks 'Credible' North Korean Steps Toward Denuclearization
A failed summit would damage Trump's self-promoted image as a master deal-maker. What did Mr Pompeo say? The train fare was $75 (U.S.) per person round trip.
Lowell said the terms "witness or a subject or target of the investigation" were in fact "words that you guys in the media report and they make no sense to people who are practicing lawyers".
According to a person familiar with the situation, Kushner was interviewed for a second time by the Mueller team in the second week of April. That meant Kushner was able to see information only at the lower "secret" level, but not highly classified information.
The White House denied that the lack of a clearance would hamper Kushner's work, even though he was the White House point man on Middle East peace talks.
Some had expected Kushner might not receive a permanent clearance for the duration of Mueller's investigation.

He said further that he is not just a Pakistani citizen as the people elected him prime minister and he knows a lot of things. The Shehbaz-led Pakistan Muslim League-N had also said the statement to be against policies of the party.
Initially, Kushner did not list his foreign contacts on the form, though he submitted an addendum indicating he was willing to detail them.
Kushner had to file three updates to his national security questionnaire, a form that guides the Federal Bureau of Investigation background check and asks for information about a person's employment history, finances, family, travel and other matters. He updated the form in the spring, listing about 100 contacts, but did not mention the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting he attended with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, Donald Trump Jr., and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
But experts also pointed to more innocuous explanations, including that Kushner's extensive travel and overseas contacts, as well as his business interests, are more complex than many incoming government officials' and might have taken more time for the Federal Bureau of Investigation to explore.
